Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corp. in Valhalla, NY Achieves ISO 9001:2000

HAUPPAUGE, New York-June 29, 2006 -- Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation is proud to announce their Valhalla, New York location has attained ISO 9001:2000 certification, completing the certification process for all of Spellman's manufacturing locations worldwide, including: Spellman Hauppauge, Spellman Bohemia, Spellman Ltd. in the UK, and Spellman de Mexico. In 1994, Spellman High Voltage was the first of company in the high voltage electronics industry to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Director of Quality, Peter Iasso explains, "We have seen the benefits that the ISO9001:2000 system has brought to our Hauppauge, Bohemia and Mexico manufacturing facilities; therefore we were anxious to bring our newest manufacturing facility in Valhalla, NY under the same quality system."

ISO 9001:2000 specifies requirements for a quality management system for demonstrating an organization's ability to consistently meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements and ability to enhance customer satisfaction. Underwriters Laboratory (UL), accredited by seven accreditation bodies for management system registration, was once again selected as external agent to perform the independent assessment of the Valhalla location during the tri-annual audit for the Hauppauge and Bohemia locations.

"The additional three day audit in Valhalla resulted in zero findings," Peter Iasso further explains, "revealing just how well the team had prepared. This dedication to quality was recognized in UL's registration assessment report which stated: 'The management is very committed to the implementation and continuous improvement of the system and communication between employees is excellent.'"
