Spellman High Voltage Electronics Announces The XRBHR X-Ray Source For The Food & Beverage Inspection Industry
Hauppauge, New York – Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation, the world’s largest independent manufacturer of custom high voltage power conversion products, announces expanded support for our food and beverage inspection industry customers. The introduction of the new XRBHR, combined with the XRB80HR, allows us to provide a full range of compact and lightweight x-ray sources that can be mounted in any physical orientation, from 80kV-100W all the way up to 500W. Additionally, all units are sold with a standard three-year warranty. Spellman’s XRBHR series of Monoblock® x-ray sources are designed for OEM applications powering their internal Bipolar x-ray tube to 80kV and 100kV at power levels of 100W, 210W 350W and 500W. Features such as universal input, compact package size and standard RS-232 or Ethernet digital interface simplify integration of any XRBHR model into a customer’s x-ray system. These intelligent power supplies monitor and log over two dozen operations, using a real time clock to record total x-ray ON time. The x-ray ON time is accessible via either the RS-232 or Ethernet digital interface. Each XRBHR model is available with fan (standard) or cone (optional) beam geometries. Proprietary emission control circuitry provides excellent regulation of x-ray tube current, along with outstanding stability performance. Spellman Exhibiting at Two Research Conferences in the Next Two Months
Spellman’s products for scientific and applied research applications will be on display at the National Synchrotron Light Source II and the Center for Functional Nanomaterials’ Users Meeting at Brookhaven National Labs in NY, as well as at the biannual IEEE International Power Modulator & High Voltage Conference in Jackson Hole, WY. NSLS II will run from May 21-23, 2018 and the IEEE will run from June 3-7, 2018. Spellman offers a variety of high voltage power supplies that are well suited for general purpose research applications, including: electroportation, e-beam/i-beam applications, electrostatics, particle detectors, cell analysis, channel electron multipliers, ion implantation, ion pumps, mass spectrometry, plasma ignition, and x-ray analysis. Registration Deadline for the Spellman-sponsored Clean Tech 2018 Competition is March 30th
The Spellman-sponsored Clean Tech Competition, run by the Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL), is now open for registration of projects. Registration deadline is March 30th, 2018. This year’s theme is “Solving Climate Change”. The competition challenges high school/pre-college age students to identify a specific problem of their choosing. Teams are made up of 2-4 students each, and mentored by a Team Leader. Each team will identify a specific problem, explain and analyze in detail, and design a solution that can mitigate the negative impacts set forth by the challenge. At this point, 46 students from 23 teams representing nine countries have registered: China, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Moldova, Singapore, France, Indonesia and the United States. In past years, we have had over 330 teams from 26 countries vying for the top three awards–$10,000 for first place, $7,000 for second and $5,000 for third. In addition to the $10,000 top prize, the winning team will have the opportunity to expand on its relationship with a professional mentor who advises and assists the team in furthering its work and education. We expect to have as many, if not more teams this year. Please see the attached documents for more information on Clean Tech 2018 and how to register your team. Registration deadline again is March 30th. Paper submission is due April 13th and Semi-Finalist announcements will be made May 7th with Finalists announced May 14th. The final event is July 13th at Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York, USA.
