Spellman はメキシコ、Matamorosの第2製造施設の開設を発表しました。Spellmanの高周波、高圧、DC電源装置、X線発生装置、Monoblock®X線源に対する世界的な需要の高まりを背景に、弊社はこの3,483m2（37,500ft2）の部品組立施設の開設により、完成品の組立および試験を行う既存の8,175m2（88,000ft2）の施設を拡張するに至りました。
テープカット式典には州知事室代表、Matamoros市長、組合代表、Spellman幹部、Finsa（Matamoros工業団地の不動産開発企業）社長が参加しました。
Spellmanのメキシコ第2工場は、メキシコの完成品組立施設（第1工場）はもとより、ニューヨーク、日本、中国、英国にあるSpellmanの製造・補修施設に供給される部品の製造および試験を担当し、金属製作、PCBおよび高圧組立、コイル、変圧器およびケーブルの生産を行っています。メキシコの第1工場および第2工場は540名以上の熟練組立工、技師およびエンジニアを擁しています。
メキシコ事業所のKen Chandlerゼネラル・マネージャは次のように述べました：「3月1日に操業開始した第2工場は、6月下旬までには全面運用となる見通しです。私共はMatamoros市、タマウリパス州、Maquilla協会、組合、そしてFinsa社の方々がMatamoros市のインフラおよび生活水準の向上に尽力してくださったことに深く感謝します。我が社の技術的に洗練された、多品種少量生産の製品は、学習意欲のある従業員を必要とし、またニューヨークを拠点とする設計・製造・品質エンジニアとのアクセスも絶えず必要です。私共はこの地で成長できることを喜ばしく思うと共に、Matamorosでの成長を継続することを約束します。」
