New High Voltage Power Supply Designed for Mass Spectrometry Industry

HAUPPAUGE, New York- October 5, 2006 -- Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation (Hauppauge, NY) broadens power conversion technology with the release of the TOF3000, uniquely created for the Mass Spectrometry industry.

The TOF3000 was designed in cooperation with major biotechnology manufacturers specifically for mass spectrometry applications. Rigorous customer machine trial evaluations were conducted throughout the development process to quantify the actual power supply performance using the mass spectrometer as the ultimate tool of measurement. This unique partnering of customer with supplier yielded crucial information and engineering dialogue that was essential to the successful design of this application-specific product.

The TOF3000 provides 0-30kV @ 400uA's with only 70mV peak to peak of ripple and noise. This extremely low ripple, high voltage output is crucial for consistent Mass Spectrometer analysis results. Exacting unit specifications such as: an excellent temperature coefficient; a stable, repeatable and accurate output; along with a remote TTL controlled output polarity reversing capability, make this unit ideal for Mass Spectrometry usage. These superior specifications result in improved measured mass spectrometer resolution performance, confirmed in comparative machine trials.

Special high voltage packaging and surface mount fabrication techniques, coupled with Spellman's proprietary encapsulation technology yields an attractive-sized OEM package.
