4th January 2021 BREXIT UPDATE

The deal with the EU means the UK can now regulate in a manner without being bound by EU rules.

As with any major change there will be challenges as we adjust to new ways of doing business with the EU. While the deal secures tariff-free access to trade there are new rules and that must be followed to allow business operations to run smoothly.

The European market is a very important part of the Spellman High Voltage business and as such our focus has been on resources, supply chain, inventory and warehouse capacity and we will leverage our global footprint to ensure seamless transactions with our EU customers and suppliers.

Spellman is a global importer/exporter of goods and has achieved the AEO Full Certification (GB AEO F/00393/18) and an UK EORI Number (GB543809139000).

All EU customers and suppliers importing and exporting to/from Spellman UK will need to have an EU EORI Number (https://www.gov.uk/eori).

The requirements for cross border movement of goods now require the following:

  • All goods must travel with Commercial Invoices
  • All invoices must have a Commodity Code and Country of Origin, as well as full description of the items enclosed and a commercial value
  • All goods will require Customs Declarations to be carried out

Our intention is to provide ongoing communication concerning any updates as soon as we become aware of them.
