Spellman Sponsors Nikola Tesla Expo at Wardenclyffe Laboratory

Tesla EventHauppauge New York – Numerous employees of Spellman Hauppauge joined a crowd of over 2,000 people on Saturday, July 12th at the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe Laboratory in Shoreham, NY,  for the annual celebration of Nikola Tesla’s Birthday. Spellman was invited to sponsor the event as a company that exemplifies scientific excellence and principled innovation. Our commitment to advancing technology while investing in sustainability and community impact is strongly reflected in the spirit of this annual event.

The Expo was a celebration of engineering, a space where curiosity is ignited, and a reminder of how important it is to bring people together to honor the innovators who shape our world. This year’s Expo featured a full evening of STEM programming on the main stage, including live music by “The Acoustic Downtime”, science symposiums, hands-on exhibits, space tech showcases, and an immersive drone light show with nearly 300 drones lighting up the sky in animated formations. 

Tesla EventNikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electrical system. He also made significant contributions to the field of radio technology and other areas of science and engineering. The Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe is a nonprofit organization established to develop a regional science and technology center, museum and makerspace at the site of Nikola Tesla’s former Wardenclyffe Laboratory in Shoreham, NY.
