Hauppauge New York – Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corp, the world’s leading high voltage power supply, X-Ray generator and Monoblock® X-Ray source manufacturer, announces the introduction of their new triode high voltage power supply specifically designed to drive Thermionic Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).  Spellman’s extensive knowledge in this application has enabled us to develop a range of high precision, low noise, ultra-stable technology platforms that can be customized to meet the demanding requirements of Thermionic SEM.  

The EBM-TEG has integrated Acceleration, bias, filament, PMT, scintillator and collector sources. It is an integral solution that provides the high voltage required by Thermionic SEM. Spellman’s proprietary packaging and encapsulation technology gives dramatic improvements in size, cost and performance compared to other SEM power supply offerings. 

This unit provides a highly regulated, low noise, ultra-stable Accelerator supply programmable from 0 to -30kV at 170uA, together with Floating Filament and Bias supplies referenced to the Accelerator to control the beam. The unit also includes high voltage outputs to drive the Detector, comprising PMT, Scintillator and Collector grounded outputs. Programming signals utilize differential analog inputs to minimize external noise and offset voltages effects. A ground referenced emission current monitor and a filament failure signal are provided. 

This unit replaces our previous EBM. It shares the same triode supply but with added detector drive with PMT, scintillator and collector outputs. Based off of this popular product, it already has a good track record, meets customer requirements and has exceptional quality and reliability in this application. 

The units are over current/voltage protected as well as arc and short circuit protected. They are also UL, CE and RoHS compliant. OEM customizations are available.
