Six Countries Represented by Finalists in the 2021 Spellman Clean Tech Competition
Hauppauge, NY, June 7, 2021 - Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation, the world’s largest independent manufacturer of custom high voltage power conversion products, is pleased to announce the finalists of the 2021 Spellman High Voltage Clean Tech Competition have been announced.
In its tenth year, the Competition is the only outcome-based STEM focused research and design challenge for pre-college students in the world. The programs goal is to inspire young people to pursue STEM studies and careers. The program is managed by New York-based not-for-profit Center for Science, Teaching & Learning, and sponsored by New York-based Spellman High Voltage Electronics, a leader in high voltage technology in the medical, industrial and scientific fields.
Despite the continuing global pandemic, 2021 saw a total of 393 Teams register, with 268 papers submitted. Overall, these came from 36 different nations. These papers were judged by a total of 92 judges. The theme this year was “Preserving Planet Earth”.
There were 60 Semi-Finalist Teams from 9 Nations (Taiwan, Indonesia, Spain, Singapore, Egypt, India, Turkey, USA and the Philippines.) These have been narrowed down to 20 Finalist Teams, coming from 6 nations this year (Indonesia, the Philippines, Spain, Singapore, Turkey and the USA.), ten in each category: High Tech and Low Cost.
