Spellman President Addresses Japan Crisis

April 15, 2011

Dr. Loren Skeist, Spellman’s President, spoke regarding the status of its Tokyo-based Japanese office and the impact of the tragic earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant events in Japan:

“Our sales and service office in Tokyo is able to operate effectively and all of our employees are safe.  In light of these devastating events we would like to extend our sincere condolences to all those that have suffered losses.  We would also like to express our admiration of the heroic courage and extraordinary efforts of those directly involved in the rescue and containment efforts and of the mutual support, resilience and determination of so many dealing with recurring aftershocks and disruptions.”

Spellman regularly donates to Relief International, a charitable organization working with international aid groups to provide emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide.  Similarly, they have been at the forefront of emergency relief efforts in Japan, providing essential medical relief and life-saving supplies to those who have been impacted by this disaster.
